Full Stack Developer

We’re a team of people who are passionate about blockchain technology, and pushing the industry into the mainstream. We need someone with an analytical mindset, exceptional judgement, and problem-solving skills.
In terms of technical experience, you’ll need to be able to build modern event-driven React front-ends, quickly iterate on and ship code using test-driven development patterns, and create CI/CD pipelines for use in the appropriate environments. This role also needs an in-depth understanding of CSS, database migrations, and how to update production codebases using engineering best practices.

Backend developer

Marc Andreessen wrote about how software would eat the world in 2011, and now that it’s eating the world of financial services, software has become a lot more complex. Financial applications have to be engineered to perfection -- there’s a lot of money on the line.
You will need to have experience shipping multiple products, building scalable RESTful services, and mastery of the full MERN stack. Additionally, beyond a demonstrated interest in the digital assets space, you’ll need to have at least some experience building a financial product.

Writers

Most people don’t get blockchain. The memes are out -- people are tired of hearing about how revolutionary it is, and how much money their friends made trading Bitcoin. It’s called apathy, and it’s what writing code can’t solve.
People think writing is easy until they try it. Writing is more than penning down ideas -- it’s about communicating them in the right order, and giving the reader a reason to care about what you have to say.
We’re looking for people with an understanding of finance, a passion for technology, and a knack for storytelling. If you can convince people to care about blockchain, you can probably convince us to hire you. Write to us! The cursor’s blinking.

Business developer

With business, it’s really all about the customer. We need someone who can grasp what our customers care about, and understands that deadlines are more than just a time limit -- they’re a commitment built on trust. At Octaloop, we love talking to brands about their long-term goals, and we need someone who can uncover their needs to match the kinds of work we’re capable of doing. Maybe we need you; maybe we just don’t know it yet.

It’s not often you find a work environment that’s trying to cater to you.

In school, I was a total science nerd. I thought I wanted to be an engineer, but after completing my bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, I was so… disappointed. I thought that following my passion -- writing -- would bring me some solace, but I found the same broken, toxic systems that pulled me away from engineering.

Having worked in the content sphere for over half a decade now, I can safely say that most companies care very little about good writers, instead viewing them as replaceable commodities. Octaloop treats them like artists.

I want to say that I found Octaloop, and that changed my perspective completely, but in all honesty, Octaloop found me. We’re a group of misfits that somehow fit perfectly. If that sounds like your kind of puzzle, Octaloop wants to see what your ‘big picture’ looks like.

Vaibhav

Work here is never repetitive. One day we’re working towards client marketing goals, and the next we’re hosting India’s largest virtual blockchain summit. Everyone’s opinion is heard before decisions are made, allowing people to include their opinions and views in areas they may have expertise in.

Working at Octaloop requires donning many hats. We’re a small team with big goals, and that means you’ll need to be able to take ownership of the tasks given to you. Honestly, if you’re someone who needs constant supervision, this might not be the place for you. But if you’re looking for a place to interact with some interesting people while flexing your creative muscles, don’t think twice.

Abhijit

Working at Octaloop? Now, that’s a tough one to crack. Is it different from your run-of-the-mill corporate job where you’re destined to adhere to your manager/boss’ commands until you run out of steam? Absolutely.
I’ve had my fair share of work experiences -- from working at a call center for customer support to managing events at jazz clubs, I found a few things in common: commands and a commanding structure. Working at Octaloop has been a paradigm shift.
Besides the fact that it’s a new experience working at home, the work here is a far more independent experience that makes you feel responsible for your contributions. No one is going to plan your day for you, and it’s honestly one of the only companies I’ve worked at where it feels like I’m not treated like a child. We’re goofy, but we get stuff done.
For me, this has allowed me to develop significantly more productive workflows while still leaving enough room to maintain a creative perspective towards my contributions. I’d like to add here that I do believe such an environment is only sustainable because of like-minded people coming together and working towards a common goal. As cliche as that sounds, I believe it stands true for Octaloop. in contrast with my previous jobs, this has made my time here an exceptional experience.
